Report concerning The Bombardment of 27/3/44

ALARM was given at 14h15m
|
|
We have proceded to put people at shelter. The first sticks of bombs fell down at 14h22. Thick smoke clouds could be seen from the Town Hall. They rose on Parme side.. We telephone this observation to the Biarritz Head Quarters. Immediately thereafter we heard explosions coming from Biarritz .
After a short stop bombing resumed again with stronger and stronger explosions
They seem to get closer and closer and smoke gets thicker on the aerodrome. A Flak shell falls at less than 100 meters from the observatory , behind Mr J.L. LAPORTE’s house causing only material dammages.

* ANGLET is the neighbour town of Biarritz where airport is located.

Very important Official Document confirming that the airfield, PARME, was bombed first at 14h22 and that only soon after, depth explosions were coming from Biarritz. Parme and Biarritz town are about 2 kilometers distant.
