There was no flare.I can not ever remember on dropping by the signal of a flare.
I certainly did not drop on the signal of a flare.

I am now showing you a reprint of the 458bg summery of the raid the on 27 March 1944.

“A beautiful example of pinpoint bombing of an airfield. 24 A/C hit bomb and fuel dumps,dispersal areas,hangars, barracks and some aircraft in the dispersal area.No enrmy aircraft, No battle damage. Weather set in at Horsham after take off ships diverted to other atrfields on returning".

Don't tell anyone but I am 86 yrs old and I was 25 in 1944. You can use this anyway you wish. This is info as I remember.
